Description
Every backgammon board seems to come in the same two browns, as if the game had stopped being designed some time in the seventies.
This one is drawn like a piece of graphic design instead: the points run in six muted tones across pale wood, so the board earns the table it sits on even when nobody is playing.

The colour is the argument, and it is handled carefully: six tones, all muted, laid across a pale wood frame so the field reads as a print rather than as a toy. Underneath, a drawer pulls out from each end, felt-lined, so the checkers have somewhere to go that isn't a bag in another room — and the board stays flat enough at two inches to live on a coffee table rather than be lifted off it.
